About: Hails from Penang, Malaysia, Caster started playing the violin when he was 6 years old but switched to the trumpet in
1997. Caster was serving as principal trumpet in the Penang Symphony Orchestra from 2000-2002. Since coming to the United States, Caster
has appeared in numerous orchestras, including the Orange County Symphony, American Youth Symphony, Corona Symphony, University of Southern
California (USC) Symphony and Wind Ensemble, the Thornton Motion Pictures Orchestra, Brentwood Symphony, Quad City Symphony, Oskaloosa
Symphony, Ottumwa Symphony, Cedar Rapids Opera and also Center for New Music Orchestra. While in college, he was a finalist in the Maia
Quartet competition. Caster has been performing with many professional ensembles, including the Malaysian Philharmonic Orchestra, Orquestra
SinfĂ´nica Brasileira (Brazil), National Orchestra of Malaysia, etc. under numerous conductors, such as Kees Bakel, Kevin Field, Robin
Stapleton, Michael Tilson Thomas, Carl Davis, Kazuyoshi Akiyama, Kurt Mazur and Roberto Minczuk. During the summers, he has performed in
many countries, including Brazil, Italy, Belgium, Japan, Taiwan, Australia, Thailand, Canada, United States, etc. After graduating with high
distinction from the University of Iowa and USC Thornton School of Music, Caster was inducted as a member of the Phi Beta Kappa Honor Society
and was awarded the Pi Kappa Lambda Award in 2009. Beside this, he was also a Fulbright scholarship student at University of Southern
California Thornton School of Music, where he completed his Master degree and Doctor of Musical Arts. For the past summers, Caster has been
performing in many world-class music festivals, including the International Winter Festival in Brazil and Alba music festival in Italy.
Currently, he holds the Adjunct Professor of Brass position at Grace Mission University. Besides playing modern trumpets, Caster also plays
the baroque trumpet and performs regularly with the USC Baroque Sinfornia. His primary teachers include Andrew Balio (Baltimore Symphony),
Boyde Hood (Los Angeles Philharmonic), David Greenhoe (Quad City Symphony), John Bourque, William Theis, and Adam Gilbert. Aside from being
an orchestra player, Caster also serves as Music Director/ Conductor of the Youth Symphony West Orchestra (YSW), where he has been leading
the orchestra to perform throughout California.

About: student at California State University Los Angeles, Michael Tarin has been studying french horn for 10 years. In that time,
he has been a member of the PCC Lancer Marching Band and the Tournament of Roses Honor Band. He is currently a member of the Cal State
LA Wind Ensemble. He has performed in several additional ensembles including the Pasadena Youth Musicians Orchestra and several community
and church groups. Michael has experience helping students get started learning the basics of french horn, instrument maintenance, and
getting them ready for college level playing and beyond.
